Radio XVII, side B, track 7: “Hot Sauce” by Thomas Dolby

Thomas Dolby - Hot SauceOh, Thomas Dolby, here we are again, another “Hot New Music Hour” and they’re still playing this song as if it’s hot and new.  Well, it was hot, most definitely, but I’d already recorded this just two tapes ago.  Let’s chalk it up to that Robin Jones was sitting in for The Crashman and no one besides myself was paying REAL close attention to what songs were being featured as hot and new.  I, of course, remembered that I’d already taped this one, Thomas Dolby.  So why would I record it again?  I’ll tell you why, Thomas Dolby.  I didn’t understand most of the lyrics besides the main chorus, and I DEFINITELY didn’t understand the lyrics that were in Spanish.  But I recognized a great song when I heard it, and I DEFINITELY recognized an attractive woman when I heard her, and while to this day I have no idea what that obviously gorgeous woman is saying at the end of this song, I’ve been enchanted with whoever she must be.  If nothing else, I think we can all agree that she’s hot.

“Hot Sauce”

Mmmmm, yeah!

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hot and spicy
But twice as nicey
Although she burn me up

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hotter than pepper
I would’a kept her
Although she burn me up

Brother in the codpiece
I seen him on the TV
I think he likes his ladies
All sweet and sugary
I’m partial to a pudding
But that’s for second course
The main meal and the hors d’oeuvres must be smothered in hot sauce

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hot and spicy
But twice as nicey
Although she burn me up

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hotter than pepper
I would’a kept her
Although she burn me up
Mmmm!

There was a fire truck attending
Smoke pourin’ from her nose
Her state of mind depending on which way the wind blowed

Chili and Tabasco
Dripping on my shirt
I couldn’t breathe
I couldn’t see
I had to call a smog alert

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hot and spicy
But twice as nicey
Although she burn me up

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hotter than pepper
I would’a kept her
Although she burn me up

<awesome Thomas Dolby jam>

What if fire didn’t burn
How would the lesson get learned
Sit there like a dope until you choke on the smoke

<lyrics in Spanish that I would know if I’d paid attention in Spanish class>

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hot and spicy
But twice as nicey
Although she burn me up

They call her Hot Sauce
She’s hotter than pepper
I would’a kept her
Although she burn me up

Ow!!!

<awesome Thomas Dolby jam>
