Radio XLVII, side B, track 13: “Little Lies” by Fleetwood Mac

Fleetwood Mac - Little LiesOh, Fleetwood Mac, the last time this song showed up on the track list, all it did was remind me that I’m getting old.  OK, that’s not fair, it also reminded me how much I loved and still love this song, which is likely why I recorded it again.  Also, it didn’t hurt that this was a “pure” song.  More than anything, though, this song is just another reminder of why I will forever be enchanted by Stevie Nicks.  She doesn’t get as much to do on this one, but when you do hear her voice, whoa mama.  And no offense to Christine McVie, because you’re great, Christine, but Stevie. . .ohhhh, Stevie.  Sometimes I don’t know if it’s even right for you to have the voice that you do.  In fact, based on my religious upbringing, it’s probably NOT right.  But ya know what, if loving a bewitching voice like that is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

“Little Lies”

<awesome Fleetwood Mac jam>

If I could tuuurn the page

In time, then I’d rearrange just a day or two

Close my, close my, close my eyyyyes

But I couldn’t fiiiind a way

So I’ll settle for one day to believe in you

Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies

(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)

Oh, no, no, you can’t disguise

(You can’t disguise, no, you can’t disguise)

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies

Although I’m not making plans

I hope thatchoo understaaand there’s a reason why

Close your, close your, close your eyyyes

No more broken hearts

We’re better off apart, let’s give it a try

Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies

(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)

Oh, no, no, you can’t disguise

(You can’t disguise, no, you can’t disguise)

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
