Radio XLVIII, side B, track 2: “Fool For Your Loving” by Whitesnake

Whitesnake - Fool For Your LovingOh, Whitesnake, welcome back!!!  Can you believe it’s almost 2 years to the day since we were blessed with your awesomeness?  And that was during a Monster Hits Weekend, too!  Although I think this time it was just a coinkydink, I don’t think this song has anything to do with monsters.  It’s just a great song.  And that’s really all I can think of to say about this song.  I wish I had more, Whitesnake.  I wish I could tell you I made out in the back seat of a car while this song was playing on the radio.  REALLY wish I could say that.  This would definitely be a hot song to make out to.  But now that I think about it, I don’t know that I ever had the radio on when I was making out with someone in the car.  Too afraid to run the battery down.  Because there was one time when I was talking to this girl in the parking lot of the Pizza Ranch, and it was in the middle of winter, and I’d left the car running with the heater on and maybe the lights on, too, and we were talking for a long time.  Typical high school drama stuff.  Anyway, when I drove back home, by the time I turned onto the gravel road leading to my house, the car completely died on me, and I had to walk a mile and a half to my house in a leather jacket from Shopko and fancy dress shoes (this was after a choir concert or something.  And by fancy, I mean they were also from Shopko) in 10 degree weather.  That was probably the most exercise I’d gotten in a long time, so it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, but how I didn’t get frostbite I’ll never know.  Now that I think about it, this song does kind of fit for that particular night because all that high school drama was surrounding this girl I had a huge crush on who kind of led me on for about a decade or so until I got wise.  A fool for her lovin’ no more, if you will.  Huh.  Guess I did have something to write about after all.  Thanks, Whitesnake!

“Fool For Your Loving”

Yeeeah yeeah

<awesome Whitesnake jam>

I was born under a bad sign

Left out in the cooold

I’m a lonely man who knows just what it means to lose control

But I took all the heeeartache

And turned it to shame

Now I’m movin’, movin’ on
And I ain’t takin’ the blame

Don’t come runnin’ to me
I know I’ve done all I can

A hard-lovin’ woman like you just makes a hard-lovin’ man
So I can say it to ya, babe, I’ll be a fool fo ya lovin’ no mo
