Radio XLIL, side B, track 5: “Was It Nothing At All” by Michael Damian

Michael Damian - Was It Nothing At AllOh, Michael Damian, it’s been far too long since we’ve heard from you.  Far too long.  Can you believe I’d forgotten about this song?  I can’t, because once I hit play, I realized that this was my favorite of all your songs.  In fact, I listened to this ALL the time.  I remember singing this to myself while I was out feeding the cattle, dreaming about the sweet sorrow it would be to have had someone who I’d held in the moonlight.  I distinctly remember “Did I fall in love for nothing?” popping into my head randomly throughout my life when a relationship would inevitably crash and burn.  I don’t know that I remembered it was from this song, but you left an indelible impression on me, Michael Damian.

But let’s talk about something more pressing for a moment.  This is important.

COME BACK TO “YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS”, MICHAEL DAMIAN!!!!

PLEEEEEEEASE!!!

It was great to see you at Katherine Chancellor’s funeral, as sad as an event as that was (has it really been almost two years?!?!).  And doubly sad since Christine married Paul, which was clearly upsetting to you.  But let me tell ya, Michael Damian, Genoa City needs you.  Actually, Christine needs you.  No offense to Paul, because Paul is the shit, but ever since he and Christine got married, she’s just been unpleasant.  And I looooved Cricket when I was growing up.  But now, now she’s just unhappy, man.  And since she lost the baby?  Forget about it.  Her and Paul are just miserable, and while it might hurt when you break them up, in the end it will be for the best.  Please, Michael Damian.  Pleeeeeease!  All you need to do is sing this song to her and it’s a done deal.

And stay away from Phyllis.  She crazy.

Did I fall in love
Fo nothiiin’

No mo hope of touchin’ you, feelin’ you by my siiide

Did I fall in love

Music can play
As the sun started to fade

Our dream vacation
Was in my mind

Just the other day

I thought I heardja call my name

Wake up
She’s goooone, there’s no one to blame
Was it nothing at aaaall

No mo hope of holdin’ ya body in the moonliiiight

Did I fall in love
Fo nothiiin’

No mo hope of touchin’ ya, feelin’ ya by my siiide

Did I fall in love
Fo nothiiin’

<awesome Michael Damian jam>

I tell you right away
I wanchoo back into my life

But if you don’t find the way
I will dream of you toniiiiight

Yyyyeeeeeaahhhh, no mo hope of holdin’ ya body in the moonliiiight

Did I fall in love
Fo nothiiin’

No mo hope of touchin’ you, feelin’ you by my siiide

Oh no – I just saw online that she died in real life. Now I feel like an idiot – I thought it was just on the show! I grew up watching Young and the Restless. Sad 😦

Very sad. I grew up watching Y & R, too, and now I’ve been watching it every day for the last 3 years, so if you need me to catch you up on anything, just let me know 🙂

I don’t watch it… but someone in the household did. Don’t double-cross Victor Newman! lol

That’s the truth, Ruth! I love me some Victor Newman. If I had more time in my life, I would spend it writing a Y & R fan blog that included Y & R fan fic. But luckily for the world, I don’t have that kind of time.
