Radio 59, side A, track 3: “Don’t Wanna Fall In Love” by Jane Child

Jane Child - Don't Wanna Fall In LoveOh, Jane Child, of COURSE I recorded this one again!  I absolutely loved this song and still do.  As I said in my last post, I didn’t know what you looked like back in the day.  And it’s probably for the best, because I would have fallen in love with you even more than I already had.  I think you were somehow able to subliminally broadcast your look across the radio waves, though, Jane Child, because while I’ve been a sucker for women of all shapes, sizes, and colors, the women I had the strongest weakness for, especially in college, were the alterna-chicks.  They were mesmerizing, with their multi-hued hair and their piercings and their absence of bras.  Of course, they were absolutely not interested in a guy who wore a tucked-in denim shirt and a black leather baseball cap.  For a brief time I tried to become more like them in hopes of snaring one, dying my hair blonde and only wearing clothes I bought from Savers.  It didn’t work, though, Jane Child.  I guess they just took your song too much to heart.  Yes, that had to be what it was.
