Oh, Faith No More, is this pre-grunge? Post-punk? I don’t know. All I know is that this was one of the songs I recorded during 1990 that was ushering in a new era of awesome music. As soon as I heard it I could tell that this wasn’t like any other song I’d yet recorded off the radio. It was hard rockin’, but not like Poison or Skid Row or the like. This sounded like the next level of music appreciation to my uninitiated ears. And in the end, all that mattered was that the song sounded great. So like the song asked, “What is it?” And like the song answered, “It’s it.” That’s all I really need to know. Epic indeed, Faith No More.
