Oh, Motley Crue, it’s been a long time since I listened to this one, and I of course remembered that I really loved this song, but I totally forgot the crazy shift this one took halfway through. This starts out kinda sweet and sentimental, a pretty mature break-up song, not what I’d necessarily expect from you. No offense. But then BOOM! “Don’t go away mad, just go away.” Nice. Or I guess not nice, depending on how you look at it. Has this strategy ever actually worked for you, Motley Crue? Was your intent to let her down easily, or was it to let her think you were letting her down easy, and then right when she thinks it’s all for the best and she’s glad if it ended, it ended this way, you twist the knife? I feel like it’s the latter. If it wasn’t, you really need to work on your break-up skills.
