Oh, The Doobie Brothers, it’s been over 2 years since we’ve had one of your songs on here! Granted, the late ’80s/early ’90s didn’t see you at the height of your awesomeness, so there weren’t a lot of your songs burning up the airwaves at the time, but I’m hoping that turning my knob to BOB will result in hearing more of your music. Once again, even though I already knew I loved you, I realized that I actually love you even more because I knew more of your music than I knew I did. I know this song. Somehow. Wherever I’ve heard it, I know in the back of my head I was thinking “Oh, yeah, this is a great song” without knowing what it was about or who was singing it. Well, now I know all of those things and life is now just a little bit better because of it. Besides it just being a great song, I’m fascinated with the imagery of the hard, unfeeling steel of the train coupled with the abstract idea of love. Kinda feels like two different songs going on here. Two for the price of one by the Doobie Brothers. Can’t beat that kind of bargain!
