Oh, Lou Bega, good on you, my friend. I don’t know any other song you made, but I just saw a commercial with you and this song hawking something, and it’s been almost 20 years since this song exploded on the airwaves. I know nothing about you, and even though I got more than a little tired of hearing this song (not that it’s not good, Lou Bega, it was just on ALL THE TIME!), you must be damn charming, because I’ve never begrudged you the completely blatant selling out that occurred with you and this song. Even when I saw you dancing with Donald Duck to a version where you’ve replaced Mary and Jessica with Minnie and Daisy, I couldn’t help but give you props. That song is damn catchy, Lou Bega.
