Radio 63, side B, track 2: “The Star-Spangled Banner” by Francis Scott Key

bannerOh, Francis Scott Key, that’s right, I recorded the National Anthem.  That’s what happens when you’re recording music off the radio on the Fourth Of July.  As cynical as I am about pretty much everything, it is a pretty damn great tune, Francis Scott Key.  And while I haven’t heard this one, much less sang it, in years, I still remembered all the lyrics.  There are two versions of this song that are the best.  The first one is Whitney Houston at the Super Bowl, obvs.  But in second place, it’s the one from “The Naked Gun”, which I sometimes get the words mixed up with the real version, but come on, man, “Lots of bombs in the air” is just damn funny:
